Cline Innovations is a successful eleven year old business started by the team of Brian and Heather Cline. We
dreamed of a business where we could utilize our past academic and industrial experience, challenge ourselves
to constantly be on the technical learning curve, and assist clients in improving their products and processes with
materials technology. Every year our sales and client base has continued to grow - proof that there is a need for

Collectively, Brian and Heather Cline have 34 years of industrial experience and 4 technical degrees.
Brian is Cline Innovations' Director of Technology & Applications. His responsibilities include the technical content
and details of most applications and projects. He brings a depth of knowledge in CVD diamond, hard coatings, wear resistant
ceramics, and cemented carbide materials. Brian earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Ceramic Science and
Engineering at Penn State University, where he first
gained interest in hard coatings technology. Before co-founding Cline Innovations, Brian worked as a Research Engineer and Application
Manager within Norton Diamond Film, gaining valuable industrial experience in CVD diamond applications, processes,
and characterization.
Heather is the President of Cline Innovations. Her main responsibilities include marketing, strategy, and the daily business logistics.
After completing her B.S. thesis project on wear characteristics of aluminum oxide, Heather graduated from Penn State
with a degree in Ceramic Science and Engineering. She began working with industrial abrasives at Norton Company,
gaining experience in manufacturing processes and practices. Heather also worked as an Applications Engineer for
Carborundum Abrasives North America, and more recently as a Product Manager for Norton Company, responsible
for a myriad of products under several brands. While at Norton, Heather received an M.S. degree in Manufacturing
Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, further strengthening her manufacturing and management skills.
